FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Naturopathic Doctors are medically trained primary care physicians. The goal is to find the root cause of disease and treat accordingly. In addition, preventing illness and promoting optimum levels of health are priorities of care. All aspects of health
are taken into account when determining a treatment plan. This includes physical, mental and emotional components for a comprehensive approach.
Naturopathic Doctors are not covered by OHIP. However, many companies offer their employees benefits that include naturopathic care.
The initial visit mainly involves gathering information on the patient’s concerns. Individualized treatment will be started at this time. The first follow up appointment typically includes a physical exam and greater focus on a nutritional assessment. Subsequent follow up appointment structure is dependent on each unique case.
Cash, e-transfer, and credit cards. Unfortunately, debit cards are not accepted at this
time.
Appointments may be rescheduled or cancelled without penalty with a minimum of 24 hours notice. If less than 24 hours is given to reschedule or cancel an appointment or a patient doesn’t show up for their scheduled appointment, a fee of 50% of the appointment cost will be charged.
A thorough assessment of the patient’s concerns must be done before any treatment can be provided. Therefore, new patients must have an initial visit to allow the practitioner to obtain all the necessary information related to their concerns before determining the best treatment approach.
